In my day job I write about Blood Pressure Treatment and treat those who suffer from blood pressure problems. Low blood pressure is a particular interest and I'm often asked about how to lower cholesterol levels. A healthy heart is becoming a huge focus for many of us nowadays. Improving your blood pressure control and thus the health of your heart and circulation system is really important. My most recent online "adventure" is to start a facility for people to ask me my opinion and to provide high quality health information by answering medical questions online.

I also have a special interest in the problem of feeling Tired All the Time and in those who suffer from chronic fatigue or lethargy. This seems to tie in also to skin care issues or skin treatment problems and suggestions. Tiredness and fatigue can lead to major problems for many individuals in modern society and the way that this can affect all areas of general health can be quite invasive in terms of daily life and coping skills.

My work with footballers and athletes leads to a focus on Painful Shoulder conditions and on the problems associated with frozen shoulder or whiplash injuryRotator cuff injury causes problems for many of my patients.

When not working I daydream about my next amazing european vacation trip  My favorite European cities include Paris and Barcelona and my next blog project will be to write about the best way to spend a night in Paris and how to find an apartment in Barcelona. I just love European travel in all its forms.

I'm interested in peoples experience of blood pressure during pregnancy. I'm a family doctor with an interest in blood pressure and plan to write an article about pregnancy related blood pressure problems.

Have you had high or low blood pressure during pregnancy? How did it affect your life. I'd love to hear your experiences.

Thanks in advance

I enjoy using Yedda to ask and answer medical questions. I previously worked as a nurse but am now based from home - having just completed a long spell of breast cancer treatment.

Life has also been busy lately after the arrival of our new puppy called poppy. She's a black labarador retriever and drives us all crazy at times but we just adore the buzz she brings to the house. Last week she caused me a shoulder injury by tugging when out walking - but I can forgive that for the fun she brings.

Last month my husband invested in the Resperate device for lower blood pressure - and boy is it effective? We've discovered that it's much better overall to lower blood pressure naturally.

Hi

Yes - I had problems with my blood pressure during pregnancy. It was all a bit weird. First it was too low and then towards the end it went higher than the doctors wanted it to be. I thought at one time they were even going to give me meds to treat high blood pressure but they decided against it.

I am currently in the 7 month of my first pregnancy. I stopped smoking when I found out I was pregnant. However, by the 4th month, I was constantly fainting or feeling very dizzy. Nothing helped. I fainted pretty much everyday of the week up until the middle of my 6th month or so. I went to a nearby hospital where they kept me overnight. When I was first checked in, my blood pressure was 80 over 62 or something like that. When I was sleeping and my fiance was at my side, he said my blood pressure dropped to 62 over 45 and again lower to 58 over 32 I believe. (The numbers might not be accurate but I'm not a doctor.) They did tests on me and the baby. The baby was perfectly normal. I, on the other hand, was becoming very sickly from the dizziness and blackouts to not being able to keep food or liquids down. I blacked out twice in front of the doctors within an hour's time and the second time it happened, I couldn't recover from it and my blood pressure wouldn't bounce back. They kept me overnight for more testing. My fiance said I stopped breathing at one point that night and that my heart stopped. He woke up from the sound of the heart machine beeping, banged on my chest, and I started breathing again and my heart started up again. I went to a Cardiologist a few days later who had me hooked up to a haltar monitor for 48 hours. I'm still waiting on the results. Since I know smoking increases blood pressure I had one and it instantly made my dizziness go away. It's not from withdrawal because I've been on and off smoking for 3 years; I can go without a cigarette and cut cold turkey whenever I want to. Since I've been smoking, my blood pressure is now at 90 over 72ish when I go for my check-ups. I know smoking is bad during pregnancy, I'm completely against it. However, I feel like at this point smoking is better than the blackouts. Not only because I feel better, but because when I would get the blackouts, sometimes I would stop breathing entirely and my heartbeat would slow down significantly. The baby is very healthy and is growing better than expected, though. The doctors told me that the low blood pressure can permanently damage my vital organs and hurt the baby severely. I drink plenty of fluids too. I just began my 7th month, the baby has been kicking me since my 3rd month. I only have a little bit more to go and then it will be over and hopefully everything will go back to normal. Hope this helped. My doctors were pretty confused and still are.
