Blog promotion

Besides the usual advices of commenting in other's blogs etc. is there a better way to promote my blog?

I find that trackbacks are a useful, rather under-used way of getting links to your site.

You can also try posting something that might stir up controversy. That might work in the short run Smile

You can always add it to your email signature.  If you read some blogs that you believe will be interested, you can either link to them in your postings (the trackback idea someone mentioned, if your blog tool understands it).  Or you can contact those bloggers directly and let them know you are blogging and why they might be interested in it.  Don't just ask for linkage: let them know why it is valuable to them (and their readers).

I like the idea of adding promotional items to the sides of your blog like google adsense.  You can also get links from other sites asking to link back to your site.
