Does bleeding in early pregnancy mean something is wrong with the baby?

Bleeding in first trimester of pregnancy (when more than mild spotting) occurs in about 30% of pregnancies. Generally speaking (very rude statistics...) in almost half of them miscarriage will take place. However – if ultrasound examination shoes normal pregnancy – chances for a future miscarriage are low.

Bleeding in early pregnancy puts you at higher risk for miscarriage, but many pregnancies that involve early bleeding go on to produce very healthy children.

I had bleeding in all three of my IVF pregnancies. In the first, I had heavy bleeding that ended very quickly in the 6th week. In the second I had heavy bleeding and cramping in the 5th or 6th week (apparently I lost a third sac that had begun to implant and did not develop) and in the third, I had a large hematoma and ended up losing the pregnancy.

Once the bleeding stopped in the first two pregnancies, I went on to have normal, healthy pregnancies and babies.

Does early pregnancy detection possibly mean multiples?

But just bleeding during pregnancy or it can just mean that you might be pregnant with multiples. I don't mean to scare you, but I tested about 4-5 days early and I got a pretty strong positive. When I went have got my period. So, I really don't know if early positives necessarily means twins.

Age of first pregnancy

Of... physical limitations, shall we say? People say your fertility drops dramatically after 35. I'm kind and riskier. But, my sis was 37 and my bosses wife was 41. (shrug) I was 23. That was WAY too early you start your menstrual cycle, the later you reach menopause. I started mine pretty early at age 11
