Do you have the most bizarre holdiday season story? Let's compete.
the ultimate foodie
This has probably happened to other people, but one year i was sat at my parents waiting for everyone to show up, my mother had cooked up a feast and nobody showed up - my brother had a fight with his girlfriend and they refused to even answer the phone for hours, my sister was sick, i cannot remember the other reasons, but i sat there with my parents and had the sadest meal ever.
Hi Tasha, Thanx for your reply. That is a sad story that takes me back. I remember in my 20's trying to get all the in-laws at the time to stop fighting and saying they weren't going to my now deceased ex-mother-in -law. Everyone did end up coming although it took alot of work (newly married people sorta thing-childish now that I look back as it was like children saying things like "I'm not going"...rah, rah, rah, Tasha, may you have a very Merry Christmas. Oh, I forgot the part about someone being sick but it was actually a hangover.

I think the only bizarre holiday story I have is the year that we got stuck in O'Hare airport for New Years Eve. I think I was maybe 10 years old, and they wouldn't let us into the bar to count down the seconds. I remember feeling very left out!!
I'll search, while you wait.
Wow, this question brings up a memory-blast from the past, and it now reminds me and faces me to remember why I divorced. You see -- touble happened during a Thanksgiving holiday when my ex and I worked as broadcasters at a radio station. He elected to remain in the state we worked while I visited my mother for a GREAT home-cooked meal on Thanksgiving. I called my ex on his cell phone on Thanksgiving day and that night and we spoke happily. While speaking, I did not have a clue that anything was wrong with our relationship. Nonetheless, before we hung up, my ex asked me to call him the Friday following Thanksgiving and that if I could not reach him at home -- to try his cell. Well, I was not able to hear from my ex. My inner-voice told me that he was with a woman, and he would not call me until Saturday between 11 a.m and noon, which was a motel/hotel's checkout hour. Well, he called around noon on Saturday, two days following Thanksgiving, and he confessed that he was checking out of a hotel with another woman. We divorced thereafter and life is now better. How bizarre?
If it's funny, laugh. If it isn't funny, laugh anyway!
Good evening Ladies.....
Thats so sad Skitch..... :( Ok, Ben and Jerrys it is then, that should help with the trauma.
I have one i'll post later that will really make you cry.....hehe
Merry Christmas y'all
Hi Skitch, That's all you have for us? Come on now, I think you are holding back a bit. My long history of dealing with issues has taught me that if you have family - you have issues. Or at least that's what they say and it is certainly true for me. Hey, you were only 10 and too young to go in a bar - think and get back to us cuz I bet you have something really good to share.
Hi George, Thank you for joining in. Let's hear the one to make us cry. Tears are suppose to be cleansing. Detoxifying if you will.
I don't know, Gearge. Can your Hover Round carry the both of us??
DL ~ You have to understand my family. I come from a long line of compulsively organized people who are ruled by matriarchs that don't put up with excuses or crap. In other words, every holiday was mapped out like a wedding and everyone showed up, or suffered the consequences. Holidays were pretty damn good in my family. One year, I was given this HUGE stuffed dog, as tall as I was, but they wrapped it in a huge green garbage bag, and it was leaning against one of the Christmas lights. So, he was a bit singed. Really, that's it! I have no horror stories, nor do I have any freaky ones either.
