Birth Control Pills Effect Long Term

Does using birth control pills for a long time make it harder to get pregnant? Could there be any effects on my baby?

It shouldn't make it harder to get pregnant, but I have read that you should try to give your body some time to get back to normal, after stopping the pill. Like for instance, give your body a month before actually trying to get pregnant.
