Me too! I do the same thing. Whenever I'm feeling down or PMSing... all I want to do is eat, and be alone. I know it's not a healthy thing. But, what always helps me is to force myself to get out of my house. If I spend those times out of my house, and with friends, or even wandering somewhere by myself, I get over my sadness just by the surroundings, by the distractions. Maybe you can try this. I know that when I'm sad and eat, I then feel even more sad because I know that it was a bad idea to sit there and eat.
