Binge Eating

I have cases of binge eating when I'm sad. Does anyone have similar experiences? When do you find yourself binge eating?

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind....

Me too!  I do the same thing.  Whenever I'm feeling down or PMSing... all I want to do is eat, and be alone.  I know it's not a healthy thing.  But, what always helps me is to force myself to get out of my house.  If I spend those times out of my house, and with friends, or even wandering somewhere by myself, I get over my sadness just by the surroundings, by the distractions.  Maybe you can try this.  I know that when I'm sad and eat, I then feel even more sad because I know that it was a bad idea to sit there and eat.

Every story has an end but in life, every end is just a new beginning.

I personally am suffering from binge overeating and I frequently overeat, not because I want to, but because I have no control. I'm extremely embarrassed and only recently my husband (who I just recently married) caught me red handed (I kept it from him for a long time) in a binge and it was mortifying. I often find myself waking up in the middle of the night to snack on anything that I have in the pantry or fridge. Usually after I've finished a whole box of crackers or a handful of yogurts, I think to myself how stupid it was that I just did that. And I really regret it. It's just a vicious cycle that I wish I could break (I've been unsuccessful at everything I've tried up until now).

I found an issue would come up with my gf at the time who ate a lot at night. I didn't realize that this was an eating disorder but apparently it is a growing issue.

Binge eating has definite emotional connection which for an over a period of time has serious health implications. However, it is important to understand that you can recover from it provided you seek help as soon as possible. I don’t think self-help is the best option for something as serious as binge eating.

Binge eating in some good point is helpful when it comes to problem, some people tend to eat much when they have difficult problems, divert themselves by over eating. At the end they suffer and regret. In times like this, you just need to consult to a physician that specialize in binge eating, it will provide you eating disorder programs that will help you in getting back to normal.

Binge eating is just one common symptoms of Bulimia but it doesn't mean that you have that illness.  When you experience other symptoms such as vomiting, vigorous exercise and etc., I think you will need to seek for medical or psychological advises or treatments.
