Many people feel that one of the main reasons he targeted the Twin Towers was to try and do as much financial damage to the US as possible. Look how close the attack was to Wall Street. I don't think he thought that America would be able to bounce back as fast as it did after the attack. On a much smaller scale, just look at the remarkable recovery of Cantor Fitzgerald. Obama has nothing to do with this.
