Bikini suits

The summer is almost here, and swim suits season is here as well. Where does the bikini swim suit start? How did it get its name?

I would have thought it was considered very revealing...

Officially, the bikini was introduced on July 5 1946, and got its name from the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests site, where a major nuclear test was conducted just a few days prior to the official introduction.

However, there are photographed and filmed evidence of the existence of a two-piece swim-suit from as early as 1932.
