How do you think people can know the right way if you do not correct them?

Jesus did not say It was hypocritical to correct sinners, he said if you are a hypocrite you should get your own life right before you correct others. Correcting others is called preaching without it no person will be saved. You do not accidently go to heaven, You will only get there by beliving Jesus is God's Son Repentance, baptism and obeying his word. enduring to the end. If you backslide and have no one to correct you, then hell will be your only outcome.

Ezekiel 3:20-21  Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.  Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
