Sometimes we put up walls not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.

I don't remember anyone named that.  I do, however, remember a character named Moondoggie in some of the Gidget movies.  I'm not sure who played him and it possibly could have been Frankie Avalon, but for some reason, I 'm picturing someone else.  Hope you can get an answer from someone who has a better memory than I have.  Good luck.

UrI93 is correct. There is no moonbeam, just Moondoggie. Franky Avalon played the Big Kahuna in the Beach movies.

Both URI93 & annette are correct Op-Ed: Different 'Moonbeam' may govern California

In the 1970s and '80s, California Gov. Jerry Brown earned the nickname "Moonbeam." While the phrase initially referred to his interest in developing a space academy and launching a communications satellite, it also fit his other quirky interests. Now Brown may become "Governor Moonbeam" again, but this isn't the same moonbeam voters turned to twice before.

Thank you AP, I could not for the life of me remember who played moondoggie. I knew there WAS a moondoggie in some of the surfing movies, but forgot all about James Darren playing the part. Steven Miles I don't remember AT ALL. I guess he wasn't a big enough star for me to remember at that time.

Again, thanks for the info.
