A baby is God's opinion that life should go on

BC is indeed Before Christ, AD means Anuus Domini, literally translated as The Year of the Lord, meaning the year Christ was born.

However, Jews, who do not accept Christ, usually use the abbreviation BCE, as Before Common Era, and CE rather than AD, indicating Common Era.

A.D= After Death (of Christ)

Another term is A.C.E (no religious affiliation) or "After the Common Era"
