Here's what I have found about Buffalo Bayou. It flows from Fort Bend County for 65 miles, flowing southeast into Harris County where it forms a part of the Houston Ship Channel then eventually ends up dumping (no pun intended) into the Galveston Bay. The bayou is floatable most of the year; however, it is extremely polluted. Buffalo Bayou flows through Houston, and numerous access points are available. The stretch from State Highway 6 to Loop 610 is reportedly the best section for recreational use. Around the highway 6 area there are some catfish, size??? All I can suggest is try it and catch and release only, from what I can gather the water is pretty polluted, let me know what you catch. I come to Houston annually and might want to try it out.
