Bantam feather loss quandry!

Please could someone answer my question for my mother in law? She owns 4 Chickens in a small coop, 2 are Bantams and 2 are large brown hens. One of the Bantam hens has lost nearly all of its feathers in a couple of weeks. Is this normal? The other hens appear not to have lost any feathers at all? Is this just molting? Rat poison is being used in the general garden area due to two rats at least being spotted recently - is it possible that the Bantam may have eaten some poison and is having a reaction?
