Baldwin lock parts--Manchester entry lock set

baldwin lock parts

I have a Baldwin Manchester entry lock set on my front door.  Installed in 1999.  Is there any way I can get the geared latch driver for the Baldwin Manchester set?  Does anyone make a better quality gear?  Mine is made of pot metal, and it has broken twice.

Thanks, Larry

If I can't do it right I won't do it

Try contacting the manufactuer, let them know the problem. They should be able to help with the problem and might even replace it.

Hi Larry!

I have exactly the same problem with the Baldwin Manchester lock and I think I have found the solution.  After taking the lock apart and finding that the gears in the latch cylinder are stripped, I called the Baldwin tech support number "800-566-1986" and found out that there is a repair kit that they will send for free.  It supposedly has a sturdier gear system.  They are sending me mine next week.

I hope this helps you.

John

Thanks and Happy New Year.  Larry

I am having issues with the same model installed in the same year!  It's the Baldwin Manchester from 1999.

I'm not sure if it's the same problem.  My interior latch is loose.  Additinally the key cylindar isn't sturdy and I have to "work" the lock with my key to get it open.

Is that the problem you guys had?

Not quite the same problem.  Give Baldwin a call at 800-566-1986.  They were very helpful and sent me a parts kit free of charge that solved the problem.
