A:I have never heard about a baby's temperature spiking like that unless something is wrong. A fever is, of course, the body's way of fighting an infection. But to spike so quickly and suddenly is odd. It would be my advice to take your baby to the dr and explain the situation, even if there is no fever at the time of your visit. There could be a serious problem that needs immediate attention. In the meantime, give tepid baths in order to make him comfortable. Good luck!
