i am 48 years old and without children of my own. it was by choice, but now that i am older i feel like i've missed out. i sympathise with you and your boyfriend.
I've attempted to fill the hole in my heart by enjoying other peoples kids. my sisters both have kids and i enjoy the times that i have with them. my neighbors have kids too and i give them some attention as well.
my suggestions to you i realize, are not much, but it is a start.
