Babies Swap in Czech: Moms Stick ith Wrong Baby

Czech moms stick with swapped babies. Now the fathers raise objections.

Wouldn't it be better if women gave birth at home instead at hospitals?

At least this wouldn't happen...

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

Wow !!!!! - a terrible event that raises several philosophical questions.  I am sure we shall deal with it for many years to come....  and rivers of tears will be shed.  If I was the one to decide at court I would say: Return NOW the babies to their original true mothers.  The sooner you do it the better it will be.....  any delay will only worsen the case and make it more difficult to solve !!!.
However, you ran too quickly to the conclusion.  Such an event is extremely rare, happends 1 to some 100,000,000 (or more)....   More than road accidents..... and we don't start going by foot or give up driving......  Giving birth at home is perfect..... until there is a medical complication....... and then it might be dangerouse or even tragic..... and the chances for such an event are higher (I guess) than switching babies.
Tnx for that emazing story.
Best regards,

Fertility Stories - infertility experiences of people like you.

I'm not really a home-birth advocate... Having had complications with most of my births, I really felt much safer in a hospital.

In addition, this story wouldn't be so big if it were something that happened frequently...

The dilemma these parents are facing is incredibly difficult. I hope that they are able to resolve it in a way that gives them peace. It seems to me that their current decision is a short-term decision, but that in the long-term they will be better off switching back the babies (so that each family has their biological child), while keeping in close touch with the other family.

I don't know if they should have given birth at home, but I think the fathers are right. With all the sorrow this sad situation causes, the fact that parents can't raise their own child should not be added.
