This Award Belongs To The Men And Women Of America....Only If You Are A Democrat ?

President Obama has admitted he doesn't believe he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize that some glögg-saturated Norwegian political hacks  awarded to him earlier today, but that doesn't mean he won't use it to push his socialist agenda.

In fact, he served notice today that that is exactly what he intends to do.

Organizing for America, a project of the Democratic National Committee, sent out this email today signed by the president:

This morning, Michelle and I awoke to some surprising and humbling news. At 6 a.m., we received word that I'd been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.

To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who've been honored by this prize -- men and women who've inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.
But I also know that throughout history the Nobel Peace Prize has not just been used to honor specific achievement; it's also been used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes.

That is why I've said that I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations and all peoples to confront the common challenges of the 21st century. These challenges won't all be met during my presidency, or even my lifetime. But I know these challenges can be met so long as it's recognized that they will not be met by one person or one nation alone.

This award -- and the call to action that comes with it -- does not belong simply to me or my administration; it belongs to all people around the world who have fought for justice and for peace. And most of all, it belongs to you, the men and women of America, who have dared to hope and have worked so hard to make our world a little better.

So today we humbly recommit to the important work that we've begun together. I'm grateful that you've stood with me thus far, and I'm honored to continue our vital work in the years to come.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

Paid for by Organizing for America, a project of the Democratic National Committee -- 430 South Capitol Street SE, Washington, D.C. 20003.

Even though you may not have voted for Obama, he is now our president and deserves our suppory.  That's the American way.  A respected public figure I knew, a Democrat, told me that he had had a dartboard at his camp with a picture of Nixon on one side.  But when Nixon was elected President, he turned it over, out of respect for the office.

Ah, Marinerecondad, I have come to the conclusion, since I have come back to Yedda, that you are as far right as you can be. That is a shame because most Americans are "middle roaders." Although I must admit that there are some extreme lefties as their are righties. The other day you claimed, "That is wasn't good to be a Conservative anymore." Or somethinng to that effect. But you refuse to open your eyes and understand that there is NO socialism being expoused by this President, or not yet anyway. Today we are living in a Capitalistic society that is so far right that people, middle and lower class people, are not able to survive. During GW's administration "more money went up than came down." Or something to that effect. It is a shame that there are still so many vestigages of the GW mentality that, to me at least, it is frightening. Michael Joel Held

Three distinguished women and one man meeting in complete secrecy in Oslo to select the recipient of the Nobel peace prize are  "grogg-saturated Norwegian hacks" because someone doesn't like the result? What a sad commentary, indeed.

Obama was nominated for the prize in January. Does that make any sense?

Nobel Peace Prize? He is our President of the United States and I respect him. Getting the Nobel Peace Prize, give me a break! I would like to know why they chose him for this? Why? I feel there are a lot of others that should have been given this honor. Maybe President Obama would have received it in the year 2020 for doing a wonderful job in improving the Economy, unemployment, the WAR, great Health Care for Americans, making world peace.
