Avoiding Payment for Seat Fillers

Daphne.ramsey@uncf.org

Dear Daphne:

This message is for Dr. Lomax.

Last year I was appauled at the use of seat fillers for the UNCF event at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.  We have enough volunteers in Los Angeles, if we can get the word out early enough, to fill seats rather than pay for seat fillers.  I have volunteered in Los Angeles for the past twenty years. I am confident we can fill the seats if given a chance.

Please  let us know how we can defray the cost of seatfillers. There is an organization in Los Angeles that gives free tickets to the public.  It is called

On Camera Audiences. They may be able to help with giving out the free tickets for the UNCF event.  We don't need their services if they charge a fee.  They can be reached at (818) 295-2700.  See if they can help with dispensing free tickets. Their Web site is ocatv.com.

We need to do a better job of notifying large churches such as First AME,

and the churches pastored by Rev. Noah Jones and Rev. Charles Blake.  You may need to contact them personally via mail.

Sincerely,

P. M. Young
