It is always thrilling to drive through the forest of New England in Autumn. Is there a way of telling the type of tree by the color of its leaves and why do the leaves turn color in Autumn.

I love the foliage and had looked this up before. It´s just amazing driving Upstate New York and enjoying the beautiful color of the leaves! I just got back from hiking here in Madrid and it´s also nice but the contrast of the different kind of trees in New England is just magical!:o)

Here is a helpful website, though Iowa isn´t part of New England:http://www.iowadnr.com/forestry/fallcolor.html
