Authority by God

This ? is mainly for the Pres. Obama hating ... conservative Christians.

Romans 13:1-2

1 Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. 2 Therefore he who resist authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.

My question is; Is it proper to pick and choose what your going to believe?

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

I believe God's Holy Word 100% from Genesis to Revelation. No, I do not believe that we should pick and choose what we are going to believe instead of taking God at his word.

Some people criticize me when I say that I don't condemn a person for abortion. It is not that I approve of abortion and I certainly would never have had one myself but I believe that is an issue between the woman and God. Everyone has to give an account of what they do in this mortal body. For that I am ridiculed and called names out here on Yedda from some posters.

I don't pick and choose but rather let God handle his business and do as he told me to do and that is to love God with all my heart and to love my neigbor as myself. Sorry to get off subject.

Be Blessed

Sorry, I misread your question. I am a Obama supporter.

Yes, just as Jesus stated you have to obey the laws and the Pharisees.........but do not do as they do for they do not know God........but maybe you should put in your browser the Obama Deception, and Obama against religion(was not religion, but the Bible he attacked, and the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus)

God is not a religion..........nor is Jesus.  God is the supreme being in this universe, and Jesus is God the son through which everything on this earth was made.  When Jesus comes on the cloud and gathers the dead in Christ, and the living in Christ and returns with us to heaven to await the coming back and ridding the world of evil and throwing satan into the lake of fire.  He will rule as King on this Earth for 1000 years and show us God's way.  Not religion's way nor mankind's way, but God's way.

For some reason God gave Barack Obama authority. God didn't tell me why he chose Mr. Obama any more then he told me why he chose G.W. Bush. I do know that shouting vile things to people in distress only drive them deeper into their beliefs. To argue a point on presumed assumptions is fruitless. I was behind Pres. Bush 100% on 9/14/2001. When he said "I hear you and the people who did this are going to be hearing from all of us soon" I got all choked up. Then came Iraq. I'm sorry, but in my mind at that time, that was unconstitutional and went against the founding principles of our forefathers (Not to mention UN-Christ like).

Commerce with all nations, alliance with none, should be our motto.

Conquest is not in our principles. It is inconsistent with our government.

Delay is preferable to error. (Thomas Jefferson)

How much pain they have cost us, the evils which have never happened.  (T.J.)

I abhor war and view it as the greatest scourge of mankind. (T.J.)

Peace and friendship with all mankind is our wisest policy, and I wish we may be permitted to pursue it. (T.J.)

The nation which indulges toward another a habitual hatred or a habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to it's animosity or to it's affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from it's duty and it's interest. (George Washington)

Fear is the foundation of most governments. (John Adams)

These are only some of many lines uttered by our founding fathers. These of course are the first three presidents of our country. Last but not least. There never was a good war or a bad peace. (Benjamin Franklin)

You are absolutely right. It will not be any man's way but God's way. But until that time comes we are told to follow his word. There are those who are not willing to do even that. God bless!

I agree with you totally..........I also hate war, but I also do not like others constantly taking over other people and killing them just because they want to rule them, but even Moses had to fight without God's help in order to stand alone with just faith that the Lord was with him.  Of course he had the rod that God empowered him with.........If it is God's will that we oppose the evil in this world.......like the Holocaust with the killing of so many Jews  and when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor........we have always fought for the oppressed and against the evil........taking no lands for ourself except this land, when my ancestry was fought against, the Cherokee in the trail of tears.....God always wants us to try and turn evil to good, but if we cannot do that do we just let them kill?  When Jesus returns to this earth soon, he is God the son so he only has to speak the words and all fighting ceases and we capture the devil and throw him into the Lake of Fire.   Remember the devil is still at work trying to turn all the souls to bad in order to win the battle against God.  So I believe in fighting for freedom and helping those that are oppressed by evil people.

For example, to put it plainly.  If a person was trying to kill your child, would you defend your child and kill the person?  Yes because that person has let evil take over his body.

If you saw someone trying to kill an innocent person in another country, or kidnapping them would you help them fight the evil?Or would you just stand there and watch?  I would defend the innocent person without question and know that God would want me to, because our Father in heaven and God the son judge the heart.  They do not judge as mankind does.

THAT WHICH DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER.

Bull. Reality is, it will usually hurt like hell and leave you with a permanent limp.

So far , no one has actually answered your question:

The answer is, NO, you don't get to pick & choose:  it's an "everything or nothing" deal.  I tie in constantly with "buffet" Christians, and they are usually using scripture to condemn somethat that THEY don't like (such as gays, abortion {which isn't mentioned in the bible}, or Obama). It's amazing how their god hates EXACTLY the same people they do.  When I point out that if the laws they are using to base their positions on are still valid, so are all the others, such as the dietary laws (if I remember correctly, there are some 613 "commandments" given, not just the BIG TEN they seemed to remember).  They respond (invariably) that those laws no longer apply because "Jesus came to fulfill the law" even though they haven't a clue as to what that meant.   When I point out that in MATT 5:17-20 , yeshua said:

"Do not think that I came to destroy the law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, TILL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.  Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven;"

they, first aren't sure that is what it says, and then tell me that Paul says this no longer applies.   (So,  doesn't that mean, if they consider Paul a greater authority than Yeshua, that they aren't "Christians" but "Paulians" ? )   Fact is, the earth is still here , has not passed away, and all the things the bible predicts have not occurred yet: so, if you are using what Yeshua said as a guide,  you still have to follow ALL the rules; not just the convienient ones.

There is no particular point in which I disagree. Afghanistan was a war of necessity. Iraq was not. The reason for Iraq changed several times. I'll not debate if-a, could-a, should-a, would-a. Thank you for answering my question. God Bless.Innocent
