My insurance company took a recorded statement ...

My insurance company took a recorded statement from me re: auto accident. They ask numerous questions including my social security number. I understand why; I just heard later on that it is unlawful to audio record a social security number. Just wondering if what I heard was true. Thanks.

I wasadvised by my attorney to never ever give a recorded statement to ANY insurane company without speaking to him first, no matter how minor.
