Does the Atkins Diet work for everyone?

I have been following the Atkins diet for over three weeks and have only lost 3 1/2 pounds. I want to lose about 40 pounds. Is it possible that this diet doesn't work for everyone?

my husband and i did this and lost 20lbs in a month. the hard part was just eating salads and drinking water for the first 2 weeks then you can start in with a alternate of salads and chicken, tuna, turkey ect. If you cheat or splured go back as soon as you can. Avoid things whith high fat content and carbs that will mess everthing up.

Don’t put off your goals until tomorrow when you can start today. Cool

Are you exercising? If not and you are healthy enough to start an exercise program then this is what you need to incorporate into your life to lose weight and transform your body and tone muscle. This helps for obvious health reasons such as heart health, adding to your life expectancy and helping with osteoporosis, etc. If you eat clean and exercise you don’t need to ever “diet”. Eating clean is a lifestyle and its basically using common sense of what foods are good for you and what are bad such as junk food, processed food, etc., and not eating it. That’s all! Just eat foods that are good for you and use portion control and you will be satisfied all day because you will be able to eat every 2-3 hours and you wont have to stick to any sort of diet.        http://eatcleandiet.com/

I think the Atkins diet is terrible for people. Your body needs carbs, just in moderation. So don't be afraid of carbohydrates, they provide valuable antioxidants and fiber and vitamins and minerals: Just make sure you get a good balance of whole foods and refined foods in the right quantities for your activity.

The more active you are, the more carbohydrate you need. Carbs are the main fuel for most exercise activities, although fat plays an important role as well. Naturally, if you don't do much exercise, don't have a physically active job or just can't do anything physically active, then your carb requirements are much less, perhaps only 1 to 2 grams per pound bodyweight each day.

Any diet will work for anyone. The main thing is that you have to choose a diet plan that fits in with your current life style, other wise you will have a hard time trying to keep it up.There is a diet supplement called acia burn everyone is raving about but wether it is any good for you depends on how comfortable you are with the whole regime

"Diets" don't work, lifestyle and eating habit changes work.  with that said, the reason that so many people have success with the atkins diet is that you eliminate carbs from your protiens which is a great step.  Food combining is a much better alternative to the atkins diet.  I teaches how to eat in such a way that your body digest food better, and allows you to naturally loose weight.  Also it will help reduce any adic reflux GERD or any other digestive issues which you might have.  This link is great, it will take you to a site that has a four day detox diet, that will start you off in the right direction.  Of course remember if you have health problems, check with your doctor first. http://www.greattastenopain.com/cmdt.asp?id=849605  also it will increase your energy levels which will help stimulate your desire to exercise....

NO, everyone is different so one plan can't work for everyone. The best thing to do is have a plan built for you or build a plan for yourself with the aid of a step by step weight loss guide.

I lost ten pounds in the first week. Weight loss is different for everyone. You should keep following phase one [ I am still in phase one and its been a month and a half]. I recommend eating less carbs, I ate only 24 carbs in the first week out of the 120 I could eat. You definitely need to exercise even if its only walking around the yard a few times [that'swhat I do]. There are restrictions even on healthy food, like you can only eat a cup of salad during the first two weeks for a meal. Ken's buttermilk ranch is amazing, and it is only 2 carbs per serving [2 tablespoons]. Also if you like sweets there are these ice cream bars that are delicious and only 7 carbs. They are a good treat, don't deprive yourself. If you cheat, just go back. Don't give up. My dad's birthday was about three weeks into the family diet, we had ice cream cake but in portions, I have never seen cake last soo long in my household. Remember no bread, fruit, grains etc. for the first two weeks. I have been taking a multi vitamin everyday too. It helps a lot. I hope my information helped you. :]
