Athletes With Special Needs

Do you think an athlete with physical disabilities using special equipment (such as the Cheetah Flex-Foot), should be eligible to compete against able-bodied athletes in the Olympics?

189 thumbs up

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

This is not an easy question to answer. On the one hand, I give this guy all the credit in the world for what he has been able to accomplish. There is the Special Olympics for athletes that have physical disabilities, and I think he should compete in these games. By introducing technology into sports competition, to me, it creates too many problems. There are so many problems with sports today (the use of drugs), that we don't need another controversial issue to deal with.
