Merry X'mas To All
Coming to your mailbox, the scariest letter of your life...
The letter will arrive in a long white envelope postmarked Washington, D.C. Inside, you'll be informed that, because of your age and in accordance with new U.S. healthcare policy (Obamacare), it is now time to discuss your "advance care options" with government "healthcare planning consultants." Your letter will also advise that henceforth every five years -- or sooner if you're diagnosed with a serious illness -- this panel of government-selected doctors and experts will "assist" you in making further medical decisions. Are you outraged yet? Keep reading, it gets worse... Who will these doctors and so-called "experts" be? Perhaps some of them will be colleagues of Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and a key formulator of Obamacare. Dr. Emanuel has some pretty scary ideas about healthcare and how it should be rationed. The good doctor doesn't actually say "healthcare rationing" -- he prefers "healthcare allocation." But it means exactly the same thing. Nor does Dr, Emanuel admit he's in favor of "death panels." (A term Sarah Palin has been excoriated for using.) Instead he chooses to call it "end of life consultation." If that sounds like a bunch of government bureaucrats making life or death decisions about people other than themselves, it's because that's exactly what it is. Shocked? My friend, that's just the tip of the iceberg. The lies and deceptions President Obama and his liberal backers are telling us about Obamacare run deep and dangerous, submerged beneath an ocean of government double-speak. There are many more reasons why this monstrous, evil plan must be stopped. If Obamacare passes...
Surprised? Now you know why I sent this urgent message asking you to help HUMAN EVENTS stop Obamacare now -- before it's too late.
The consultations about end of life are a good idea and should be encouraged. I discussed end of life with my folks when I helped them review their wills. It would have been better to discuss it with them and their doctor, now that I think back on it, and it would have been great if their doctor had suggested setting up this discussion. That is what this law is trying to achieve.
I bet you mother likes the idea.Ask you kid too
Severed; Do you really think that setting up a conversation with your loved ones is the same as a meeting with the government??!!.......Where are the priorities with the government?; with the person or with the budget?
its not even mandatory nor does it have to be followed. more right wing scare tactics.
dfrogpong uninformed loafers are a danger to our country. That is how obama and hi mob of neanderthals got elected to make America a third world country.
Pat d -- I think that having the government reimburse my folks' family physician for having the conversation with them and me (since I would have to carry out their wishes), is a good idea. This is what you are calling 'a meeting with the government', but it isnt that at all.
