How come when people are lost and ask you for directions and you tell them, they start to argue with you?

out here in the country no one hardly ask that question. unless its in our 1 convience store. and they can only this way or that way to get somewhere straight line

Yeah, kind of silly situation but I can believe that something like that might happen. People are strange. Maybe they ask about the way to prove themselves that they have good information - and if you tell them something else thet don't like the truth. I understan what you saying, cause why do they ask if they know. I am glad that I never had that situation in my life:)

You have no idea how many times that has happened to me. One time this guy wouldn't stop arguing with me and finally I gave him the wrong directions on purpose. I wonder if he is still looking.

I guess some people never think they are lost. Or that's not what the last person said? People are strange.
