Arun took a stone and heated it for a long time. Then he quicjly plunged it into cold water. what might happen to the stone?

Hi,


As any other object it will shrink (due to the changes it temperatures).  Now it depends on the type of stone (and the temperature it reached), what will the conseqences be.  I believe that most hard stones will show no change while others (probablly the soft ones) will cleavage (fall apart to pieces).
