Art psychoanalysis question

are there any phsychologists who specialize on analyzing art and literature?  I am pretty sure I had some kind of mental disorder and the best example being manifested through the my art and my writing, I was just wondering if there are any groups or agencies that specialize or focus in/on this field/area of work.  I would like to have them take a look at my "stuff", maybe give me some answers and I would like to donate my work for future research in this field if it exists.

Yes, it's called "Art therapist" the therapy is a combination of art and talk.

You will have to talk about your feelings, that's a part of what any type of therapy is all about, but art therapy also relay heavily in using art as both a way to analize and work out issues.

well i have about 400-500 drawings and writings on paper in a big shoebox.  Im not really looking to deal with any sort of emotion, rather looking for an explanation or something physical that I can identify it as.  I dont neccesarily want to sit there and draw out pictures...all my "work" is already done.  I've just been kind of stuck with all of this and am finally wanting to move past it, so Im just looking for a name to put the face...ya know?  Im not really looking for therapy or help because of or for it, I've kind of managed that on my own. I'd just like to know how far down the rabbit hole I was/still might be or if I still have reason to worry about it. I mean, Im not crazy, its just I have never been able to not draw or write and much of what I have been through has been put down onto paper, and it is rather dark.  Having something to call it by and looking at the options or how to move on from it I guess would be what Im looking for.  I would go to a psychologist for it, but I think it would be much easier for someone to analyze my "work" rather than talk one on one.  The other reason is that much of my...problems?...come from my writing and my drawings and I cant really talk about my feelings with someone without having to talk about my "work".  When I would write and draw, I mean, to be quite honest its insanely sad and dark and just scary.  I dont even open my shoebox anymore, I just cannot read or see any of them.  I just want someone to be able to explain what and why, ya know?  I guess...does that fit art therapy?

Yes, it does, Capitan.  Your fear and fascination with your art is very evident in your writing here.  It is understandable why you would shy away from talking about your feelings.  When we go to see a therapist, there should be no pressure to divulge information.  This should happen at the pace of the client.

I will say that, with what you have given here, I think you would definitely benefit from seeing an art therapist.  Sometimes, when we learn to trust another in therapy, we are willing to have them support us as we explore the scary stuff.

LOL, you go Fuzzy!!!

Just paint draw or what ever you do when it comes to your head, don't waste your energy on doing all this psyco stuff. No matter what you create you never know what the hell the viewer is going to see in their mind, there are professionals that will analyze the shit out of your work and all it will do is add more confusion to you. Take my wword for it. Benn there done that. Your are better off creating having fun and to hell with everyone else as long as you are satified go for it.
