Archway With Chronic Cracking
I have a gorgeous, oversized dining room with one arched opening with a smooth finish and about 8 inches in width if you're standing directly underneath. On one side, this particular arched opening develops a chronic small crack, which creeps upward towards the 10 ft ceiling and extensive crown molding. We've had this area redone several times, but the crack keeps coming back! We've been told that because of this type of archway this cracking will happen from time to time, etc. I thought about wallpapering this one wall, to hide the crack but there's really no "stopping point" with the smooth finish at the underside. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
