It was originally purchased by hedge-fund manager martin zweig, from publishing heiress llady mary fairfax in 1999 for $21.5 million. With its $70 million pricetag, the co-op is currently listed in forbs magazine as the eighth-most expensive home in the world, fourth-most expensive home in the United Statesand second-most expensive home in the Northeastern United States in 2006.
