I am looking for information on an antique pipe with the words RACINE DE BRUYERE on the left side of the shank. There is also a single crown marking with the word Garantie underneath it. It has a tall bowl (2 1/2 inches) and the overall length of the pipe is approx 11 inches. It has a half bend between the bowl and the shank. The shank has a metal collar possibly gold or brass with wreaths on it. According to family history, the pipe was taken from a Tsar's palace by an American soldier during in World War I. It was supposed to have come from a set of eight pipes. I would appreciate any information?
