There is no death.  There is only life and transformation. 

 There is change, but life never dies. 

 The body dies, but the energy/soul that was occupying that physical body, transforms. 

If you study nature closely, you will find this to be true, and humans are of nature as well as a flower or tree or butterfly. 

 If you've lived with and loved an animal, you see the animals personality/soul.  So yes, There is Divine Love there inside that animal just as it is inside of you.

Heaven is not a "place to get to" as much as it is a state of "being at home with God."
