Amtapa.org What affect does Section 17 of the HB2499 House Bill have on my future income?

amtapa.org Section 17 of the HB2499 House Bill signed by the governor states "Licensure for massage therapists does not require new or additional third party reimbursement or otherwise mandate coverage under the WC act and/or MV act." What effect does this language have on PA licensed massage therapist? Doesn't this insurance amendment admitted to the bill at the last minute by Nancy Porambo mean that PA licensed massage therapist will not be reimbursed for prescribed medically necessary therapy provided? I beleive it does. Now I must ask, "WHERE IS OUR VICTORY"? Nancy, how could you agree to such an amendment without discussing it with PA therapists or any other interested parties? Iv'e been a Medical Massage Therapist for 12 of the 16 years that you have been working on "our bill", and my income as well as the income of all massage therapists in PA will be gravely affected by your decision to  add that insurance amendment to the bill. PA will also suffer from the loss of corportate and other business taxes paid to them by massage therapist, because we will be unable to stay in business. If I'm wrong, I apologize. If I'm right, you need to rectify the mistake. I know I will do everything I can to make the change.
