Amen to previous post. HUGE Difference. I am in the business of building tube amps for electric guitars. You plug in an electric guitar it sounds superb. You plug in an acoustic with an expensive pickup and through a great preamp - it will sound crappy. Why?

Simply because electric guitar amps are "voiced" for the specific range of an electric guitar whereas an acoustic guitar amps will be voiced for a wider frequency spectrum you find in the acoustic guitar.

Does that make sense?
