Was America's Next Top Model Rigged?

Do you think that the rumors that Tyra Banks rigged the most recent America's Next Top Model competition could have some truth to them? Whitney is the first plus-sized model ever to win the competition. Could it be that our society just cannot accept a win from a plus-size model, so they are looking for any other possible explanation?

I don't think that Tyra Banks would set herself up for that kind of trouble. Even if the show did want to encourage plus-sized models, they would not have rigged the entire competition. I think that Whitney is a genuinely beautiful and talented model, and all the judges could appreciate that. She also is a great CoverGirl model because she sets a great example for young girls all over the world. She is real and people can relate to that. She has a pretty face, which to me seems to be the most important trait for a covergirl, trying to sell makeup!  I do think that it's an interesting point that you make that perhaps our society is not yet ready to accept a "different" kind of standard of beauty. I think that is very sad, and am hoping that Whitney and other beautiful girls (who eat) can help to change that standard for good!!

I've watched every episode of this years America's Next Top Model. Although I don't think that Whitney was one of the best models each week for most of the show, I also think she wasn't the worst either, which is why she never got kicked off. She definitely coasted through a majority of the show due to this, but I think she really stepped it up in the end. She was definitely better than Anya in the fashion show and totally ruled the runway. Anya had no personality during the fashion show and I just found her to be boring. I know that the winner is not determined on the runway show alone, and that Anya had a better portfolio of pictures, but at the end of the day, I still feel like Whitney stood out more, and relates more to the public. Not to mention the fact that after 9 years of interestingly different beautiful winners, it was about time for girl us normal girls can relate to!
