Why would the American people want to elect Obama ...

Why would the American people want to elect Obama, not only the first African American, but also who is a former muslim or islamic, who we are now at war or in controversary with in several different countries? There is no objection to an African American being president but it is Obama's former faith.  This is not a question regarding religion but is meant to be a question regarding the insurgents and terrorists who obviously hate us.  Now is not the time for someone with a muslim background to be elected.

By your ignorance you are saying that all Muslims or all Islamic people are bad. You may as well say that we should not  elect an Catholic as they are all pedophiles or that we should not elect a Mormon because they believe in bigamy.

Before you prattle of such nonsense, get your facts straight.

The bottom line is that not all Muslims are bad. Obama is a worthy candidate thanks to the things he has done in his life and his devotion to the United States. The fact that he believes in one G-d or another is a completely irrelevant. There are reasons not to elect Obama but this isn't one of them.

We're gonna be here awhile, so we might as well turn on some tunes !!

First you need to Get educated.    Obama was not a Muslim, his father was, but even if he was, why does that have anything to do with being President.  That would be like saying that a person who is jewish should not be president.   Ever heard of 'separation of church and state'???

Some people are just very narrow minded and don't take the time to decide for themselves.  They hear something and just jump on the band wagon.  Before you offer an opinion that someone might actually 'jump on', get the facts.  Your facts are distorted and incorrect.

Obama would probably make a very good president.  Personally, if it was between Obama and Hillary, I would vote for Obama in a heartbeat.  At least he is honest and doesn't reek of hypocrisy.   Most likely McCain will win because if the choice is McCain or Obama, too many people are afraid to vote for Obama....or too narrow minded.  If it is because of his platform, that is the only correct reason not to vote for him.  As for between McCain and Hillary, people will still vote for McCain.  Hillary is out and should just slink quietly from the situation just like her husband did.  She would have a better chance if she was not associated with BILL Clinton.
