American dream: from building the future to win a lotto ?

I am interested in knowing if it is only my feeling or somebody else feels the same: at some point america was a place to BUILD the future.

People arrived here to work hard and build the future, american dream was to build the house as a family nast and guarantee the future for kids.

Now, I think, most of the people are trying to "win a lottery ticket" and be rich overnite without much labor and sweat.

You are not alone my friend. I am with you 100% Your statement is the basis for an article that I have wanted to write for some time and have just kept putting off as I wasn't sure how others would receive it.

But now that I know that at least one other person shares my sentiments, I think I  shall give it some serious thought.

Good luck and best wishes.

This is common in many western countries.

It is more that there is a sense of entitlement, instead of a sense of purpose.

I really have to just shake my head at this weird attitude.

Life doesn't owe you, you owe life.
