American in Northern Ireland

As a Protestant Christian from America, how safe would I be spending a day in Northern Ireland going to the differest tourist sights?

To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.

Take it from an American who has been living in Israel for close to 30 years, I know exactly what you are talking about. All you have to do is act like a normal tourist and keep a low profile. Avoid any political discussions and if you do hear something that might offend you, just walk away and bite your tongue. You are on vacation and you will never see these people again, so it's not worth the hassle. Enjoy!

When was the last time you were in Israel? It's a lot safer then you think.
