Do you think sports star should be given an allowance to stop them squandering their funds?
Would an allowance during season improve their game?
Work hard or go home.
I absolutely think giving players an allowance would stop them from squandering their funds, not to mention help improve their game. The hardest problem would be actually implementing such a policy.
It really depends on the approach the country has towards sports. I mean if a superb athlete would get an allowance then why not an excellent musician? If the country/government has a supporting approach towards culture then all fields should be rewarded. The problem is that once you grant one how do you decide what field is better to grant over the other. In my point of view culture is very important and I don't think there should be any discrimination.
