Allergic reaction?

Can you suddenly become allergic to a lipstick you've been using for some time? I love Mac lipglosses and I used them a lot...then I bought this nude pink color (there was a lip plumper in it). I used it for about 2 months and my lips always tingled. But then they started becoming red and swelling and itching. They also became very dry and peeled. How do I suddenly become allergic to something I was using without problems? Now I cannot use any MAC Lipgloss since I get the same symptoms.
