Is it always assumed the husband pays alimony, and the kids stay with the mother?
If the kids are separated between the divorcing couples (each stays with one parent), would that effect the payments?
The answer is yes. Child support is payed to the custodial parent and comes to share the load of raising the child. The amount that's payed is also dependent on how many kids live with each parent.
