the answer is yes. your liver will repair itself as long as you have not entered the cirrhosis stage. as a recovering alcoholic of almost 3 years there are no visible signs of damage to my liver, and i partied like a rock star for almost 20 years. good job wanting to sober up for your kids, but in my experiences the only way to get and stay sober is to do it for yourself and only yourself. everyone else will reap the benefits. if you want to get involved with A.A. i highly recommend it. good luck.
