It may not be too late for you to regain your health.

I commend you for wanting to change your behavior and get healthy so you can be a positive presence in your son's life.

You may want to ask your physician for advice and/or look into AA; either will be helpful.

the answer is yes. your liver will repair itself as long as you have not entered the cirrhosis stage. as a recovering alcoholic of almost 3 years there are no visible signs of damage to my liver, and i partied like a rock star for almost 20 years. good job wanting to sober up for your kids, but in my experiences the only way to get and stay sober is to do it for yourself and only yourself. everyone else will reap the benefits. if you want to get involved with A.A. i highly recommend it. good luck.

You may be living a more healthier life if you quit drinking liquor.  alcohol abuse intervention is a great way to regain a healthy lifestyle.  Your liver can also repair itself if you start helping it to be cured.

First of all, good for you for caring about your so and yourself.  Sometimes people that have an addiction, can help to stop by replacing it al least temporarily with another "good" addiction.  Try to dind something positive that you can do at the same time every night, when you used to drink.  Maybe go for a walk and look around at things, listen to the world going on around you. Concentrate on what you would be missing, if you were drunk or sick or worse, not alive.  Try reading a good book, or even "The Good Book" the Bible, before you go to bed.  Many of the people in the bible went through alot of hard times and found their solutions.  Play a game with your son before his bed time, if he lives with you, it will keep you busy and remind you nightly why you don't want to drink.  Good luck and God Bless You.

unfortunatly your liver cant fully heal itself, the effects of alcoholism are permanant just like the effects of long term smoking. and its also why alot of alchoholics come to need liver transplants. if your drinking 5 six times a day then thats not good but be careful even if its drinking once a day that to can have harmful effects in the long run. but dont just go by advice people give you here i would consult a doctor or physician about it to be on the safe side

Yes, your liver can repair itself if not too far gone.  Try attending AA meetings and you may be able to stop drinking if you desire is strong enough and your belief in a higher power is great enough.

Good luck,
