Air France missing

What MORONS decided to build a plane that is totally dependent on electronics command. Here is a good example; when all electrical systems fail Pilots are rendered useless in attempts to control the plane. No A330 bus rides for me!!

What MORON would make such an assumption?  First, the Airbus is NOT totally dependent on electronic systems for control.  Secondly, All aircraft have multiple back up systems.  Thirdly, the aircraft did not totally loose all electrical power, else the automatic message would not have been transmitted.  Fourth, I'm not ruling out lightning, but all aircraft are designed to withstand multiple severe lightning strikes, and even with a total loss of electrical power the aircraft should have kept flying.

It's awfully early to speculate, but reports are the automatic message that was sent also indicated loss of cabin pressure.  That would tend to indicate some sort of structural failure, possibly caused by severe turbulance that the airframe could not withstand.

Well, Mr. Avionics Man, as reported by our "infamous" news media a good part of the world believes that Pilots have no control of their aircraft once electric power is lost. Hence, my quote was in line with what is being reported. I would suggest, since you are an expert in this field, that you report to our media the conditions you describe so that passengers (Like me) would not be scared our of their wits to fly any of the newer aircrafts.
