We are a family of four visiting London from Japan, we have read so much about British traditions and really want to sample afternoon tea – where is the best place to go?
Most hotels offer this: but for the ultimate, try Claridge's Hotel in Mayfair: not cheap but a memorable experience. www.claridges.co.uk
Tea at The Ritz is the most famous but also expensive - i went recently for tea at the London County Hall hotel over looking the thames and they did a great tea there and you do not need to book in advance.
