African american behavior modification dilemma

Are there any succesful behavior modification programs geared to african americans and,if so, at how many or what levels?  Personally(as an african american) i have utilized be/mod theories successfully in several areas (higher education, social services,bus/industry/non profit community organizaions, etc) starting in 1978.   I have been retired since 1997,have attempted to volunteer my skills/efforts time and time again but found no takers.  Yet, i continue to see highly educated professionals awkwardly stumbling about as they attempt to apply short sighted and naive be/mod applications to various programs while expending(wasting) hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Can someone explain this situation to me???

43 thumbs up

I am not well informed on the behavior modification programs.   The only thing I can offer is a comment.   Black people are holding themselves down with the ongoing perpetuation of the myth of white people holding them back.  We all need to take accountibility for our own actions and behavior.  If Black people want to be successful, there are plenty, if not more opportunities for them than there are for white people.  I know I've played the "Obamba Game" and claimed only my African-American heritage at times when applying for scholarships, jobs and such.  And we all know that if we don't get what we want, the next step is to cry racism.  I strongly suggest to Google "Bill Cosby".  Mr. Cosby offers great insight on this topic and with a great sense of humor. Good luck; and know you will always make a difference in someone's live.  the more you reach out; the greater opportunity to help others.  God Bless, QT
