Activities for kids?

My children always loved drawing and making story books with their drawings. They also enjoyed spending time outdoors. I personally enjoyed taking them to the woods near our neighborhood and collecting different leaves/sticks with them. We'd take them back home and they'd use them for the story books they designed.

I think it's be great if you took the child to an animal shelter to help teach her a love for animals. Animal shelters can always use the help and the animals could definitely use some love.

I don't know how much money you'll have to spend.. but I have a 6 year old, and she loved our day at the Shed Aquarium here in Chicago! Then ofcoarse Mcdonalds was a huge hit!   If you can find a place like that with big fish, or Zoo with big Animals to feed... you would both have a great time!    And don't forget the Theater .. there are always good Movies out for Kids.. you'd probably get a kick out of it too..  I swear, the Cartoon Movies they make today are even entertaining for Adults!   As far as artsy stuff, baking different types of cookies and cup cakes is fun.. even creating a pizza to eat together can be a blast.  My young daughter even enjoys helping me do the dishes when we're done!   Have fun!
