Sorry to tell you, but from my experience, once the bank has your money, they act like it is their money. We had no hold or freeze of any kind on our bank account and still they would not let us close out the account and take the money out. We needed it for a closing on a home and they used every excuse you can imagine not to comply with our request. We were leaving our state to close in another state and needed the money pronto (after we had requested it in writing and in the proper way)They had been stalling and stalling...why? we have never figured that out, because I got on the phone with the manager and told her to overnight the money to us. I had to lie and move our actual traveling date up in order to insure that if she did overnight it we'd have it in time for our new home closing date. Anyway, this bank manager actually said, "I can't possibly overnight it to you, we're having a snowstorm." Well, she had a snowstorm of my words in her ear and she managed to overnight it to us. It's worse than pulling teeth to get them to let go of your own money. (some banks) Good Luck, sorry I have no better advice for you.
