Abortion

After Roe v Wade (a US Supreme court ruling on abortion, millios of poor single women had abortions insread of future potential criminals:20 years later the set of potentialoffenders had shrunk, along with the crime rate. Levitt employed a comparative statistical analysis to show that the five states that legalized abortion at least two years before Roe v Wade witnessed a crime decline earlier than the other 45 states. Further those states with the highest abortion rates in the 1970s experienced the greatest fall in crime in the 1990s. ......My question is: Did Roe v Wade lead to an increase of criminal abortions, or did it have a moral cleansing effect in many states?

first of all I do not believe in abortion it is cruel and unfair to the child to have a chance at live. we are not the judge to say who lives or dies GOD is..... the only time a woman should have an abortion is if her life is in danger by carrying the fetus.

I do not believe in abortion period! But to say that is the reason why we don't have as many criminals is just plain ludicris. Anyone can be a criminal. Look at some of the priest and clergy of all religions. They broke the law in different ways to even include murder. Then there are the politicians. Most of them are criminals (what they do with our tax money can be likened to embeslment). Then there are the people who live in abject poverty. All have the potential to be criminals but many of the children are fighting to rise above this stigma.

So do you really think that abortion reduce the birth rate of criminals. What about it reducing the rate of the ultra smart? Did abortion take the life of someone who could cure all types of cancer? What about AIDS? No one ever thinks of this senerio.

Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons.

Read these articles and I think you will find the conclusions very interesting.
